Growing up in a rural community taught me firsthand the unique blend of challenges and opportunities that young people face outside of urban centers. My own journey, combined with a profound love for my community, inspired me to establish This Is My Quest, Inc.—an organization dedicated to empowering rural youth through STEAM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics).
In rural areas, our youth are deeply connected to the natural world, agricultural traditions, and tight-knit communities, yet often face significant hurdles in accessing quality STEAM education and resources. I've seen too many young people with extraordinary potential limited by geographic isolation and scarce educational opportunities. That's exactly what we're determined to change.
STEAM education isn't simply about subjects—it's about sparking curiosity, building critical thinking skills, and nurturing the kind of innovative spirit that will carry our youth into the future. It matters deeply to me because I've witnessed how transformative these experiences can be, providing youth with the confidence and tools they need to thrive.
Our programs, like Go Quest, bring STEAM learning to life through practical, engaging experiences. Watching our youth build soapbox derby cars, conduct environmental research, and solve real-world problems inspires me daily. Each activity is not just educational; it's a step toward a future filled with possibility.
For rural youth, STEAM education represents pathways to new opportunities, stronger communities, and personal fulfillment. I built This Is My Quest to ensure these pathways are accessible, meaningful, and impactful.
I invite you to join me in supporting rural youth. Together, we can unlock their extraordinary potential and help them become the innovators, leaders, and changemakers of tomorrow.
